Prize structure

Every Dear draw pays the same six tiers. We checked this against all 236 result sheets in our archive and found one single structure, with no exceptions. The seller amount is a separate payment made to the agent who sold the winning ticket; it is printed on the sheet next to the winner amount and is rarely published anywhere else.

That is 132 winning tickets in every single draw, three times a day. The 5th prize alone accounts for 100 of them, which is why most wins are small and why checking the last four digits of your ticket is worth doing even when the headline number is not yours.

What a ticket costs

We do not state a ticket price, because the result sheet does not carry one. Other sites publish a figure for this; we have not been able to verify it from a source we trust, so we would rather leave a gap than fill it with a number we cannot stand behind. The price printed on your own ticket is the authoritative one.

How to claim a prize

Claim rules are set by the issuing state, not by us. For the Nagaland State Lotteries the deadlines are strict and worth knowing before you win rather than after:

1. Submit a completed claim form with supporting documents to the Directorate or its nodal officer within 30 days of the date the result is published in the official gazette.
2. Prizes still unclaimed 90 days after the result is published are forfeited to the State Government.
3. The Director may allow a late claim beyond 90 days, up to a maximum of 120 days, if satisfied that the delay was justified. This is discretionary, not a right.
4. Keep the original ticket safe and unaltered. A claim is made against the physical ticket, not against a screenshot of a result page — including this one.

Tax on winnings

Lottery winnings are taxed at a flat 30% deducted at source, under Section 194B of the Income-tax Act, 1961 — restructured as Section 393(3) Sl. 1 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 with effect from 1 April 2026. The rate and the threshold are unchanged by that renumbering. Tax is deducted when the winnings exceed ₹10,000, and it applies to the whole amount, not only to the part above ₹10,000. Surcharge and cess may apply on top.

Applied to this lottery, the arithmetic is unusually clean. Only the 1st prize of ₹1,00,00,000 exceeds ₹10,000. The 2nd prize is exactly ₹10,000 — at the threshold, not above it — and every remaining tier is well below. So of the 132 tickets that win in a draw, one crosses the deduction threshold.

Sellers are treated separately, and the result sheet says so itself. Every sheet carries the line: "TDS 2% under Section 393(3) IT Act 2025 shall be deducted on seller’s prize amount w.e.f. 01.04.2026."
